Are You in Need of Summer Beverages?

I love to have a fresh beverage on hand to enjoy when you come inside from enjoying all the summer activities. Your family will enjoy these refreshing beverages on movie or game night. Also, don’t forget to keep these ingredients on hand so you can whip up a refreshing beverage for those unexpected guests that drop by to enjoy a Saturday evening on the front porch.

California Ice Tea


4 tea bags
1 cup fresh lemon juice (5 to 6 lemons)
1/2 3/4 cup superfine sugar, to taste
3 lemon slices

Steep the 4 tea bags in 4 cups of boiling water for 10 minutes. Discard the tea bags and allow the tea to cool. Combine the lemon juice, sugar and 4 cups of cold water in a large pitcher. Add the tea and lemon slices. Serve over ice
 

 

Mango Ice Tea


1 1/2 quarts cold water
6 high quality black tea bags
2 cups mango nectar
sugar or Splenda sugar substitute
1/4 cup fresh mint leaves
thinly sliced mangoes

Bring water to a boil, turn off heat add tea bags and steep until tea is dark, about 5 minutes. Remove bags, add mango nectar and add sugar, to taste. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Place in pitcher and add mint leaves. Pour over ice and garnish with mango slices.
